Overcome the Challenges of Recruiting, Training, and Retaining the Right Employees

The Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program in conjunction with RDA Far West and Broken Hill City Council will be hosting a series of 90 minute lunch & learn style employer seminars in Broken Hill.

There has been a significant focus on finding meaningful employment for jobseekers, however there is a presumption that employers are fully mature, they understand the landscape and how to employ, train and retain staff. This is an assumption only, and most employers are unaware of their obligations. Our aim is to create an opportunity to provide information and tools for employers on how to attract, train and develop and retain their people. They often have access to the tools they require but need to learn how to apply them.

Bron Pearson, Workforce Australia Local Jobs Employment Facilitator, will be delivering 4 employer seminars face to face in Broken Hill to provide information on recruitment, training, skills & performance management, retention and workforce planning for succession and growth. These topics are aligned directly to the results of the RDA FW Workforce Development Survey and therefore responding to what businesses in the Far West are telling us that they need.

We will offer simple takeaways employers can immediately implement in their business, a checklist of where to go for more information and a concierge service on the back of each seminar, to identify and provide access to people and programs to support each specific business, plus specialist HR and WHS support where needed.

Our aim is to empower employers to ensure they are a) better informed, b) have a new level of confidence and c) the skills and knowledge about where to find information and resources.
