Council staff will be out and about with iPads next week to trial the new online Community Portal system.

The Community Portal will offer a quick and easy way for locals to report issues, find information, and use Council services online.

Council staff will be demonstrating the Community Portal at the Library (September 27, 10am-2pm), Town Square (September 28, 10am-2pm), and Westside Plaza (September 29, 9.30am-3pm).

Council's General Manager, Jay Nankivell, said the pop-up demonstrations would be a good way to get some early feedback on the new system.

"Our aim is to provide a new online system to allow residents to quickly notify Council of maintenance issues such as damaged footpaths or dangerous trees, and provide a quick link to other Council resources," he said.

"It will make life easier for residents, and also help our staff stay informed of what jobs need attention around the city.

"We're still in the process of developing the system, so these demonstrations will be a good road test to see what works and what doesn't, and if there's any other options we need to include.

"I'd encourage anyone with any issues that need reporting to stop by the pop-up stalls and have a look at the new system.

“We’ll review all feedback and continue refining the Community Portal in the coming weeks, and notify the public when it’s ready to launch online.”
