Locals with an interest in the city's Art Gallery and Albert Kersten Mining and Minerals Museum (GeoCentre) are encouraged to take part in upcoming consultation around the facilities' Strategic Plans.

These plans will guide the Gallery and the Museum’s priorities and initiatives from 2025 to 2029, and local feedback will help ensure staff can provide vibrant, inclusive, and sustainable facilities and activities that benefit local artists, community members, and art enthusiasts.

Face-to-face consultation sessions will be held at the Gallery from 10 am to 12 noon on September 24, and at the GeoCentre from 10am-12 noon on September 25.

These sessions will provide an excellent opportunity to share ideas and engage in meaningful discussions with staff and fellow community members.

Council's Gallery and Museum Manager, Kathy Graham, said she looked forward to lots of community-driven feedback around both facilities.

"We want active participation from the community to help shape how we do things, and create strategic plans that reflect the community's collective visions and aspirations for these important facilities and services."
