Feedback sought from pedestrians, cyclists

Council is inviting locals to have their say on what improvements need to be made to the city's pedestrian and cycling infrastructure.

Council, in conjunction with Roads and Maritime Services NSW, are seeking to develop an Active Transport Plan to guide future upgrades to make it easier for pedestrians and cyclists to get around the city.

Feedback is being sought through an online survey, and an online mapping tool.

A public community engagement session will also be held at Council Chambers, Blende Street, at 5.30pm on December 5.

Council's Chief Operations Officer, Anthony Misagh, encouraged everyone to take part in the engagement process.

"We're aware that there are a number of issues with the city's footpaths, gutters, and other paths and infrastructure, and we're keen to hear how we can improve things to make it easier for everyone to get around.

"So if there's a particular area or issue you would like Council to focus on, please let us know.

"We'd also especially encourage feedback from those with a disability or other mobility issues, as improving accessibility is a key focus for us under our Disability Inclusion Action Plan.

"We want this to be a plan for the community, by the community."
