Film crew play it safe

Council wishes to acknowledge the professional approach to COVID-19 precautions that have been undertaken by a large film crew currently working in the city.
The 80-strong cast and crew are expected to be filming in Broken Hill until October to produce a new drama series based around the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Council's acting Manager City Development and Planning, Anne Andrews, said all involved have been working well with Council around COVID-19 prevention.
"Council have made it clear they're very serious about COVID-19 precautions, and the cast and crew have been outstanding in the way they've responded," she said.
The production crew have their own COVID-19 Safety Officer and Safety Plan, and have been working closely with Ms Andrews around ongoing safety planning.
Every member of the production has been required to submit a health declaration outlining their residential address and any recent travel before accessing any Council site.
"They have their own safety measures in place, and they've been very understanding and worked well with us in ensuring all Council's safety expectations are met as well," said Ms Andrews.
"They clearly value the safety of those involved in the production, and the community in which they're working. It's been great to see."
