Council and the YMCA will host a big day of free activities at the Regional Aquatic Centre this month to mark the 2021 Seniors Festival.

The Active Healthy Seniors event will be held on April 15, and will feature a range of free classes aimed at increasing seniors' health and wellbeing.

Classes will run from 8am to midday and will include gentle exercise and aquarobics and an introduction to gym equipment.

There will also be a range community service providers on hand to chat with attendees, and tea and coffee will be provided.

Mayor Darriea Turley AM encouraged all seniors to come along and enjoy some exercise and a chat with service professionals.

"It's always a pleasure to give back to our senior citizens, and I hope this event provides a great morning for everyone to get together and socialise, build fitness, and learn more about what community services are available in Broken Hill."

The full program of classes can be found below. Bookings are not required.

8am: HydroAqua

9am: PrYme Movers

10am: Tai-Chi
