The city's best young scooter riders will have a chance to show off their skills at an open competition to be held in the city next month.

The competition will be run by the Freestyle Scootering Association in conjunction with Broken Hill City Council at the skate park in Sturt Park between 10am and 2pm on October 2.

Riders of all abilities are encouraged to compete, as the competition will be split into Beginner, Intermediate, and Expert categories.

There will be an array of prizes up for grabs including an Envy Prodigy Scooter, Envy Beginner Scooter, and various scooter accessories.

Those with an interest in sharpening their skills and keeping their scooter in top shape are also invited to attend scooter skills and maintenance workshops.

The skills and maintenance workshops will be held on October 1 between 10am-12,30pm, and 1.30pm-4pm. Registration for the workshops is essential as places are limited, and all workshop participants will receive free hand grips and grip tape.

Please note that these events are only open to young people between the ages of 12 and 24 years.

All events are free, and food and drinks will be available of both days from Pasties & More. Those wishing to enter should visit https://aubhcc.sales.ticketsearch.com/sales/salesevent/137959
